The Lamont Xperience

BCW Productions and entertainer Lamont Price have joined forces to produce a new series called "The Lamont Xperience." The variety show will feature interviews with Cannabis personalities, music artists, comics and more. The show will be focused on behind the scenes adventures and the back stories the public doesn't always hear about.

We sat down with Lamont this past week to learn a little bit about the man, the comic and what we can expect from The Lamont Xperience:

BCW:

When did you first decide to get into comedy?

LP:

The first time I KNEW I wanted to be a comedian I was 12. I told a dirty joke in the cafeteria and had the whole place fired up. I was already really into standup comedy at the time and the rush I got from everybody in the cafeteria's reaction to my joke solidified things for me. I knew immediately I craved this type of feeling. I'll never forget it

BCW:

What was the first joke you ever told on stage and how was it received?

LP:

First joke? I honestly don't remember what my very first joke onstage was but, before I ever officially took the stage I recorded, in my bedroom, an entire comedy album (with no audience) and passed tapes around to all my friends. My best friend sat me down and said, with all sincerity "This shit is horrible".

BCW:

You've been working gigs in the Cannabis space for a few years now and multiple projects with BCW. What role does Cannabis play in your life? How has it influenced your career if at all?

LP:

Cannabis enhances my chill factor, at times helps me expand my mind on ideas and, simply, I like getting high. Not sure that it, in a purely smoking sense, has enhanced my career in that I smoke for the pleasure of it, not so much for how it affects my comedy. I do both separately for the pleasure but when both forces are combined organically it's a wonderful marriage. From a business perspective it's definitely taken me on some fun adventures. From working awesome events with BCW to interviewing cool people like Run The Jewels (and blazing with them). Mary Jane brought us together. That's special.

BCW:

What is your inspiration behind the Lamont Xperience? What can we expect out of the series?

LP:

This is an opportunity for me to have fun with the interview format. I'm gonna talk to some cool people from different areas of the creative community, ask them a range of questions from the conventional to the wacky and the goal is to get a true vibe of the person and maybe gain some new perspectives, with some funny videos I've created mixed into the festivities.

BCW:

Who would your dream guest be for the Lamont Xperience and why?

LP:

Wow. So many people on this list but let me try and narrow it down to one. If Prince were still alive I would love to get high with him and just listen to him tell basketball stories. Speaking of, it's clear Dave Chappelle is an obvious dream guest. I don't think I need to explain why. Bill Murray would be up there. Patti Labelle. I don't know that she even smokes but the idea that I'm smoking and she's telling stories from her amazing life and knowing that her being an outstanding cook means the post blaze munchies situation is gonna be *chef's kiss* is enough for me to want her.

BCW:

Rihanna, Cardi B, Adele. You have to Marry one, Smoke with one and Cancel one. Go.

LP:

I'm marrying Rihanna because we were meant to be. Smoking with Cardi B because she's hilarious and Adele has to be canceled unfortunately. Nothing against her it's just Ri Ri and Cardi are just too good to pass up.

The Lamont Xperience debuts Monday September 21st as part of Boston Cannabis Week taking place September 21st through September 27th. Lamont's first guest will be Jimmy Kang, music producer, Vice President of Wu-Tang Management and Operating Manager, Wu-Tang Radio, Wu-Tang DJ Coalition, and Protect Ya Neck records and distribution.
